The expedition

Where the map dissolves into islands

At the far eastern edge of Indonesia, hundreds of jungle-covered islands rise from glassy turquoise water. Raja Ampat sits at the heart of the Coral Triangle, and its reefs are so alive you forget to come up for air — but what stays with you is the stillness: limestone karsts at dawn, lagoons that feel undiscovered, and nights under more stars than you knew existed. Getting here takes effort. That is exactly why it still feels like the last paradise, and why sharing it with the right people matters.
